Self Help for Anxiety

For a lot of people, the phrase ‘self help for anxiety’ reflects practices such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, and progressive muscle contraction and relaxation but none of these methods offer an ideal remedy. Anxiety self help offers a direct, fast and longer effect but only if you follow the right course and only if that program follows a definite structure that adheres to a proven and accepted format.

Before discussing what a self help for anxiety is that every cured anxiety sufferer in the world has followed, let’s first of all understand what an anxiety disorder is, which will lay the basics for understanding why there is only one cure for anxiety disorders such as agoraphobia, post traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, or obsessive compulsive disorder or.

When anxiety is normal, it offers an important natural protection against threats but when anxiety is inappropriate, it can produce a wide range of distressing physical and psychological symptoms. The flight or fight response which causes high anxiety, is activated by a small organ in the brain called the amygdala; this acts like an anxiety thermostat, controlling anxiety levels – it’s the ‘anxiety control center’ in humans.

When an actual threat to survival is present in our environment, the amygdala, which is a ganglion of the limbic system adjoining the temporal lobe of the brain and involved in emotions of fear and aggression, reacts in a way where it is preparing the body to either fight or flight from that threat but in anxiety disorders, no real, outside threat is present but the amygdala does not separate external threats from the physical feelings you experience around your body and it is these that it locates and responds to as the threat!
Yes, your anxiety disorder is a result because your mind finds the feelings and thoughts caused by itself and scares itself into making more symptoms, it’s rather like scaring yourself by shouting ‘get away!’

Self help for anxiety starts by recognizing this information, breaking this cycle of fear and forgetting the anxious habit you have developed in the subconscious mind. Every cured anxiety sufferer has done just this. There is no other anxiety solution, and that’s a fact.

You may wonder how can this be done, or who will teach you this method. Actually, you won’t find it in a bottle of pills or a psychologists office that’s for sure this process is simple and fast but it must be provided in a structured, continuous, and supportive method of busting anxiety.
